Heart Felt Thanks To Joyce and AJ Lewis

AJ Lewis The Australian Ariel Register would like to extend heart felt thanks to Joyce and AJ Lewis pictured left (click to enlarge) who have generously hosted our web site at their own expense since it's inception. AJ is now 93 and Joyce who's still working full time is 74, their circumstances have changed and they can no longer host our site however we hope to continue our association with them for many years to come. You can find a link to their website above or in the menu on the left.

50 Years On Ariels Are Still Prefered

The Surman Family

The Surman family on Ariel motor cycles

Part of the early Ariel motorcycle tradition in South Australia, the text reads: They run in the family. Here's amazing testimony of Ariel motorcycle popularity. Meet the Surmans of South Australia. Veteran Ariel motorcycle enthusiast Bill Surman (with Mrs Surman in sidecar) on his 1,000 c.c. Square Four, and his sons riding an Ariel 500 c.c. Twin and an Ariel 500 c.c. Red Hunter single cylinder motorcycles respectively. Yet another typical example of preference for Ariel motorcycles by generation after generation of Knowledgable Motor Cyclists.

and 50 years on ...

The Browne Family

The Browne family on Ariel motor cycles

Part of the modern Ariel tradition in South Australia. They still run in the family. Here's amazing testimony of Ariels popularity. Meet the Brownes of South Australia. Veteran Ariel enthusiast Michael Browne (with daughter Rosie on pillion) on his 1,000 c.c. Square Four, his 16 y.o. son Steven (left) on a 1956 HT (replica), his wife Annette on a 1935 LH and 18 y.o. son Adrian on a 1948 NG. After 14 years in the Australian Ariel Register the Brownes finally have the whole family on the road and on Ariels and looking forward to keeping the Ariel tradition alive in South Australia.
